I. The Gates

Lights seep into my dreams
I see the world fall beneath me
I’m going to a place
I’ve never been before
Above the clouds I’m floating
And now the sky is glowing
Approaching golden gates
I’m knocking at the door

Standing before the glowing light
I can’t believe the face I see
A familiar spirit speaks
From the other side
His words echo deep within me
Songs that I could never hear him sing
His presence is the voice
That’s knocking at my door

Questions flying through the sky
Asking do I live or die
But either way
I’m left behind
His spirit stares into my heart
But it’s love that’s tearing me apart
Who do I leave behind
When I close the door


II. Losing you

Driving down a long road
Blinded by falling snow
We take a turn
Where I didn’t want to go
Direct hit from the side
For a second I am blind
I wake up to find
Her body’s getting cold

Looking into her eyes
I say one last goodbye
Leaning back into
A sleep without an end
My soul freezes inside me
Why did I just see
Another tragic goodbye
Her spirit’s taking flight


III. Losing Myself

See the storm pass through the sky
As cars crash in blinding white
Knocked into a panic
In the middle of the night
Broken bones but beating hearts
Except for one that got hit too hard
Knocked into a slumber
Where my soul departs

Souls float on in sinking hearts
Pain will drown us as currents drift apart
Storms will pass as you grow older
I’m just glad that your story isn’t over

Don’t miss me when I’m gone

When I’m carried away

Darkness blinds the eyes that see
